Patient: Male, 28 years old

Background: The patient is a healthy 28-year-old firefighter and EMT who experienced heaviness, aching and tiredness in both legs, especially after sitting or standing for a long time. Diagnosis and Testing: Although he showed no visible signs, his symptoms led to detailed ultrasound testing (duplex ultrasound) that confirmed venous reflux – where blood flows backward in the veins, causing discomfort and fatigue.

Treatment: In March 2025, the patient had a procedure called endovenous ablation on the right great saphenous vein (GSV), where heat was used to close the faulty vein. After this, his right leg symptoms went away completely.
