J.T. JARRARD'S PROFILE
Registered Vascular Technologist (R.V.T.)
J.T. has worked with Vein Specialists since its inception in June 2006. Jarrard is the lead vascular technologist for Vein Specialists and earned and earned the distinguished credentials of Registered Vascular Technologist (R.V.T.) in 2005. Jarrard is highly experienced in noninvasive vascular testing, including venous duplex exams, the gold standard test for venous insufficiency, which provides an accurate physiologic assessment of the extent, severity, and location of clots in the veins or leakiness in the one-way valves of the veins. He is also highly experienced in performing other noninvasive vascular studies utilizing duplex ultrasound to image other vascular structures of the body. He performs carotid duplex scans to rule out significant blockages in the neck arteries which supply the brain. J.T. JARRARD'S PROFILE
Registered Vascular Technologist (R.V.T.)
He is also certified to perform segmental arterial Doppler flow studies (blood flow studies of the arteries in the legs) which involves the use of blood pressure cuffs and painless Doppler ultrasound. He can accurately stratify the location and severity of leg artery blockages. Although his focus, like that of Dr. Magnant, is primarily on the evaluation of venous pathology, his broader experience has proved invaluable to dozens of Vein Specialists’ patients in whom he serendipitously found other, more serious arterial problems. In these cases, Vein Specialists has been able to make referrals back to the patients’ primary care physician or to the appropriate specialist for more definitive evaluation and treatment. Jarrard is truly dedicated to the mission of the practice and strives to continuously improve the quality of care for all patients. He is also a medical educator and is integrally involved in Vein Specialists’ community and physician outreach efforts. These efforts are directed at increasing the general public’s awareness of venous insufficiency, its myriad presentations, and the modern management of this disease. He also serves as a resource for referring primary care physicians with respect to noninvasive vascular testing modalities and, more specifically, noninvasive diagnostic and treatment options for venous insufficiency.
