Pre-Determinations

Although many of the clinical presentations of venous
insufficiency are considered medical conditions, a 3-6
month trial of conservative therapy is required by all
insurance companies. Conservative therapy includes
elevation, anti-inflammatory medications and prescription
strength compression stockings. Many commercial
insurance carriers require a formal preauthorization
or predetermination of benefits prior to proceeding with
definitive therapy. If your insurance carrier does not provide
this option, you may be required to make a deposit at the
time you schedule your procedure. The balance of the
deposit will be promptly refunded to the patient after
payment has been remitted to Vein Specialists from
your insurance company.
